Hello Friends & Fellow Photo Professionals,

I'm very pleased to announce that the Bhutan: Land of the Druk Yul photo expedition is set for October 3 - October 17, 2008.

The photo expedition's itinerary is largely similar to the one I organized and led in October 2006, however this time its main focus are the photogenic Tamshingphala and the Tangbi Mani festivals, both of whom are in Bumthang. These festivals are important rituals to the local Bhutanese and include Tantric-based dances by masked monks.

ps. If you're interested in traveling to Bhutan for photography, I'd like to direct you to a recent post on my The Travel Photographer blog titled

Bhutan: Paying Through The Nose
in which I explain how some comparable photo tours to Bhutan are overly expensive. I would encourage you to read the post, look at my expedition's itinerary and its price, and then decide.

I look forward to lead this exciting photo expedition, so if you have any questions and/or want to register, please email me. As most of you know, I limit the number of participants on my photo-expeditions to 8, so do so early if you have an interest in joining me. My Bhutan photo-expedition in 2006 was sold out within a few days.

With my involvement in the Mexico photojournalism workshop and leading the Kashmir photo expedition in summer, this completes my 2008 expeditions and workshops, so to all subscribers and readers of my newsletters: I wish you Happy Holidays, a Merry Christmas and a spectacular 2008...and I look forward to photograph alongside you soon.

All the best,

Tewfic
